2022, Year in Review

It was another exciting year for MonRiverGames. This summer we launched our first-ever community session as well as achieved nonprofit status. We created 10 prototypes this year and got to see more than a dozen of our members graduate from the Game Design and Interactive Media program at West Virginia University. We also completed our first successful fundraiser to support members' travel to professional conferences. We are super excited to see where this new year leads us!

In particular, we are looking forward to the conferences we've been invited to participate in as well as a Spring Indie showcase we are helping to host, here in Morgantown. We're also looking forward to hearing back on several grants the studio has applied for.

We'll be at DualCon in Charleston, WV in February. Then, the Game Developers Conference in San Francisco in March. We'll host our first Spring Indie Showcase on April 1st (details forthcoming). Finally, we'll travel down to Raleigh, North Carolina for the East Coast Game Developers Conference.

We are about to start another Community Session. Our first meeting will be Monday, January 16 at 7:00 pm via Zoom. We'll host these weekly until May. There's still some time to sign up here! Our public pitch day for this session will be March 6. We also intend to hold informal lunch meetings with current and prospective members several times throughout this session: Friday, January 20; Friday, February 17; Friday, March 31; Friday, April 14th; Friday, May 5. Come and grab lunch with us at Black Bear Evansdale to see what we're all about.
